About Lisa Wagner Erickson

Lisa Wagner Erickson is a Colorado-based playwright, theatre artist, and educator whose plays include STEALING STARLIGHT, #StepOnMe, and THE MRS. WHEATLAND PAGEANT. Her plays have been developed/presented by Primary Stages, Stickball Productions, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, No Strings Theatre, And Toto too, Edge Theatre, Theater 29, and Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, among others.

A True West Award winner, she has also been a finalist for the Gary Garrison Award for 10-Minute Plays, a regional finalist for the KCACTF 10-Minute Play Award, a PlayPenn semi-finalist, and a Landing Theatre’s New American Voices semi-finalist. Her work is published in Literature Today and Mini Plays Review.

She is the founder and Creative Director of Cypherbird Projects (formerly the Lulubird Project) and the former owner and Creative Director of Theater 29 , a Denver venue dedicated to original work by Colorado playwrights and multi-genre artists. Under her leadership, Theater 29 and Cypherbird Projects shows and events have featured the work of over 46 Colorado creative artists, including 30 playwrights and theatre artists.

Lisa has taught playwriting at the Community College of Denver and for Lighthouse Writers youth programs. She holds an MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen from Lesley University.
